Management Team

Dave Mims, President and Founder

Dave wears many hats, including developing the future of the company, working with clients to solve their business technology needs, and running the day-to-day operations. Prior to founding Sophicity, Dave ran successful IT consulting firm Mimsware Corporation for 10 years and held software development positions with IBM and Intertech Information Management, Inc. He is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, and a Microsoft Certified Application Developer, and has over 18 years of professional IT experience.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Southern College of Technology (now Southern Polytechnic State University). In his free time, Dave enjoys time with his family and playing tennis. Dave lives in Woodstock, GA with his wife and three children.


Sue Mims, Director of Finance and Human Resources

That's right, it's Dave's mom. But really, she is mom to all of Sophicity and keeps us fed with pizza, sandwiches and plenty of love. Before joining the team, Sue worked at Majth Management, LLC for 32 years as Corporate Secretary to the President. She also served on the Board of Directors and as Manager of Majth’s portfolio of 8 subsidiary businesses.

Sue holds a certificate from Albany Tech in Office Management. She lives in Canton, GA with her husband and enjoys reading, horses and, most of all, spending time with her two sons and their wives, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.


Tim Verras, Director of Marketing and Customer Experience

Tim has spent ten years in the IT sector, specializing in usability, instructional design, and training and is an experienced writer in the Marketing and Public Relations fields. A Detroit native, he has consulted for clients including Chrysler, Mazda, Toyota, Kia and worked with agencies such as BBDO and ES3. Tim currently serves on the TAG - Young Professionals Society Leadership Council.

Tim holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Bennington College and is a graduate of the Second City improv and sketch comedy programs. He lives in Atlanta and enjoys soccer, pc gaming, martial arts and performing comedy.


Kevin Howarth, Director of Business Development

Kevin has spent five years in the IT industry in a variety of roles, including Editor of TechLINKS – a publication that focuses primarily on the Georgia technology industry. In addition to producing content and managing the print publication process, Kevin also nurtured a specialized community of over 200 Georgia-based CIOs and IT executives to engage in various media, event and peer-to-peer networking opportunities. Kevin also founded the Atlanta Media Bloggers Group, a community of local thinkers and experts who helped put Atlanta on the national social media map, and he has appeared as a social media expert on numerous panel discussions.

Kevin holds a B.A. in English (minor in Mathematics) and an M.A. in American Literature from Kent State University. In addition, Kevin also received a certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology for completing its Management Development Program, and he has received a peer-awarded Highest Award for Achievement from the Dale Carnegie Center of Georgia. He lives in Atlanta and enjoys writing fiction, reading, and exploring rock music history.


Practice Managers

Todd Snoddy, Software Development

Todd has nearly 20 years of application development experience in a variety of industries including military, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and professional services. He also has experience managing and leading software teams through the entire development process. Todd is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer and has several certifications in Microsoft .NET technologies.


Clint Nelms, Network Infrastructure

Clint has 10 years of experience in delivering technology consulting to metro Atlanta businesses in the accounting, real estate, and health care industries. Before coming to Sophicity, Clint ran two local technology consulting companies, taught the Microsoft Certification track at Gwinnett Technical College and joined the Microsoft Small Business Partners Group, where he is still an active participant. He has also spoken to industry specific audiences on information security and technology compliance process and has been published in the National Public Accountant journal.

Clint’s knowledge of information security, disaster recovery planning and remote access systems has allowed him to work directly with cities in the state of Georgia to maximize the results that they get out of their network infrastructure. He has worked side by side with city officials to cut costs related to technology and ensure that best practices are in place and adhered to for disaster recovery and information security.

Clint holds a B.A. in Advanced Rhetoric and Composition with a focus on web based publishing from Georgia State University, and has obtained MCSE and Comptia Network Plus certifications.
